The Life Science Center (LSC) is a central inter-faculty research network at the University of Hohenheim. The aim of the center is to strengthen the University’s scientific potential in the field of Life Sciences covering the whole food chain. The Life Science Center brings together the numerous scientific activities from agricultural sciences and biology to food sciences and nutrition to establish new interdisciplinary research projects. Within FUSIONS, the LSC is responsible for the establishment of an EU FUSIONS multi-stakeholder platform for Central-East Europe and will contribute to the following fields: - review of national and European policies and legislations impacting food waste generation - analyse scenarios on current trends of food waste generation - identify policies for socially innovative solutions to reduce food waste - develop guidelines for a European Common Food Waste Policy enhancing food waste prevention and reduction through social innovation
